Situation 1:The Snooze & Luzz
Woman: (shaking hands): “My name’s Sandra.”
Man: “So, listen, I realize that you gotta get going but can I get your phone number so I can call you?”
Woman: (sizing him up): “You know, I’m not really interested, but thanks for asking.”
Man: (keeping his dauber up, not crestfallen at all, brightly): “Okay, then you have a good day.”
Woman: “Thanks.”
In this situation, it could have gone either way but unfortunately our man struck out. is this you?
Situation 2: Action In, Action Out
He quite properly kept reassuring her and pressing her in a nice way for a contact number. He keeps on coming, letting her know that his approach makes total common sense and that there is no room to be alarmed.
Also, initially our man grabs her attention by starting out with “excuse me”, which is a non-alarming come on that most people will at least hear out to see what you want...or is this you?
Situation3: The Samantha
It took a lot more guts than just sending over a drink and hoping for the best, but it worked. Notice too that although she boldly approached the man’s table, she kept her interruption short and concise, so as to allow the man to continue his dinner with his friend. . .
Situation 4: No wasted time
Woman: “Oh, well is there something else I can show you?”
Man: “Well, actually there is something else . . . I wanted to see if you’re available. You’re cute and I’d like to go out with you sometime.”
Woman: “Oh, well, I don’t even know you.”
Man: “Well, that’s the whole point. I want to get to know you and since I probably won’t be coming here again, I wondered if I could call you. Maybe we can go out sometime.”
